Personal
I was born in 1995 in Iraq as a second-generation citizen to Egyptian parents. I moved to Egypt when I was a little kid, to the beautiful coastal city of Damietta, where I grew up until I finished university. Afterward, I moved to Cairo for five years, and finally, I relocated to Dubai.
I have always been passionate about fine arts, and I studied Fashion Design alongside English Arts. However, I later discovered my true passion in Business and Entrepreneurship.
Career
I am currently a Marketing & Growth Manager at OneCommerce, a UK-based startup, where I helped expand into the MENA region and managed one of their innovative brands, Shemsi period underwear. I oversee the marketing and growth departments across various markets, including Egypt, UAE, KSA, Kuwait, Morocco, and Lebanon.
Previously, I worked at other startups, including the e-commerce startup Taager.com, the fulfillment solution startup Flectock, and the F&B tech startup bites.
Travel
I have traveled to 12 countries aside from my home country of Egypt, which include Spain, Germany, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Italy, Sri Lanka, Bahrain, the UAE, Jordan, Lebanon, and of course, Iraq.
Traveling has contributed so much to who I am today. It has exposed me to different cultures and realities, making me more open-minded and accepting of differences. It has also made me realize how wonderful all humans are and how beautiful our planet is.
Art
Since I was a little kid, I've always had a deep love for painting, drawing, and creating various art crafts. Art has been my way of expressing emotions, exploring my imagination, and finding joy in the process of creating something beautiful. Whether it was a simple sketch or a detailed painting, I found comfort and fulfillment in every stroke of the brush or pencil. However, as I entered high school, life became more demanding, and I gradually drifted away from my artistic passions. Despite my love for art, I paused any major projects, only occasionally drawing a few portraits for close friends. Now, I feel an undeniable pull to return to that creative world.
Cooking
Cooking has always been a passion of mine, fueled by my love for creativity and exploration. For me, cooking is more than just preparing a meal; it's a way to express myself, experiment with flavors, and connect with different cultures. I enjoy blending ingredients from various cuisines, always seeking to create dishes that are both nourishing and delicious.
Volunteering
Volunteering and working with NGOs has always been a deep passion of mine, starting with my early involvement in Plan International, Terre des Hommes, and AIESEC. Each experience has given me a profound understanding of the impact that dedicated, community-driven efforts can have on the world. My passion for social causes grew further when I had the opportunity to manage a period poverty initiative through Shemsi period underwear, collaborating with NGOs to bring essential resources to underserved women.
